SEASONAL PRODUCTION & CUSTOMER ADVOCATES

As Seasonal Production & Customer Advocates, you will be part of fun but crazy time at Paper Culture. This job definitely requires a high "happiness quotient" -- we see ourselves as being incredibly lucky to be asked to be a part of people's life events -- it's a privilege for us, and we want our customers to know that. It will be incredibly fast paced, exciting and yes, stressful at times though we promise to have some fun! As an added bonus, there is an opportunity for conversion to full-time hire for a small number of candidates each year.  So if you love that fast paced environment -- please continue reading.

Responsibilities

- Primary responsibilities will be to transform customer web requests into production ready files and digital proofs using Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as assist customers with any customer service needs
- Review overall design aesthetic including colors, typography and layout - making suggestions and changes where appropriate
- Review customer files for typographical errors, grammar, style suggestions, and missing information. Provide feedback directly to customers via both phone and email.
- Answer customer questions about the process or their specific orders via email, online chat and phone
- Ensure that all files are correctly prepared for printing each day
- Review customer photos for optimal resolution, layout and color tone. If you see an opportunity to improve the photo, work your Photoshop magic to ensure a beautiful print
- Work seamlessly with internal team members
- Consistent on-time and on-spec (or above!) delivery

Requirements

- Ability to work flex hours during evenings and weekends on a rotation basis
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Proactive, yet flexible
- 2+ years of advanced Photoshop experience
- 2 + years of advanced Illustrator experience
- Strong overall computer skills
- Strong command of typography and fonts
- Good eye for proofreading and copy editing
- Superior design skills
- Attention to detail
- Experience working directly with customers, partners and suppliers via both email and phone is a plus
- Superior communication skills via email and phone
- Strong command of English grammar, spelling
- Job requires working on the computer almost the entire day
- Strong command of Mac
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in graphic design

Position Details

- On-site position in Millbrae, CA (walking distance from Caltrain, BART and major bus lines)
Positions start in October and November and run through the end of December
- Evening and weekend rotations required
- Competitive hourly rate

- Help customers create the perfect product for their holidays
- Review customer files for typographic errors, spelling, grammar, style suggestions and missing information. Provide feedback directly to customers via both phone and email
- Answer customer questions about the process or their specific orders via email, online chat and phone
- Ensure that all files are prepared for correctly printing each day
- Work seamlessly with internal team members
- Prepare physical shipments of products
- Consistent on-time and on-spec (or above!) delivery

Requirements
- Passion for working with people and can-do positive attitude
- Strong overall computer skills
- Experience working directly with customers, partners and suppliers via both email and phone is a plus
- Experience working with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Superior communication skills via email and phone
- Strong command of English grammar, spelling with a good eye for proofreading and copy editing
- Job requires working on the computer almost the entire day
- Strong command with Windows computers
