An illustrator and greeting card designer, Karen Schipper creates art that aims to inspire optimism and encourage relationships. Growing up in Hong Kong, Karen was raised in a home of boisterous personalities with a good dosage of Cantonese-dubbed Japanese cartoons and a satisfied belly of scrumptious food. She made her own handmade cards since she was a child and cannot seem to shake off her love of stationery. With a decade of design experience, Karen’s illustrations are rooted in design thinking with a side of whimsy. Her work weaves together her childhood years, her background in design, and her joy in the every day.
