Paper Culture works to reduce the environmental impact of our products and operations. We also estimate our greenhouse-gas emissions and purchase carbon credits to address emissions that remain.

Our Greenhouse-Gas Footprint

Paper Culture calculates its estimated annual greenhouse-gas emissions using methodologies based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard and Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

Our calculation includes material greenhouse-gas emissions associated with our operations and value chain, including purchased materials and services, manufacturing, packaging, transportation, business travel, energy use, cloud computing, and artificial-intelligence services.

Where appropriate data is available, we use activity-based information and published emissions factors. Where supplier-specific or activity-specific emissions information is not reasonably available, we use reasonable estimates, including spend-based methodologies for certain purchased services.

Estimated annual greenhouse-gas emissions: approximately 305 metric tons CO2e.

Paper Culture's greenhouse-gas calculation is prepared internally and has not been independently verified by a third party.

Carbon Credits Purchased

For 2026, Paper Culture purchased 320 metric tons CO2e of carbon credits through Cool Effect, an amount exceeding our estimated annual greenhouse-gas footprint.

Carbon Offset Project

Offset seller Cool Effect, Inc.
Registry / program Gold Standard
Project ID GS 12147
Project name Trash to Treasure / Mare Chicose Landfill Gas Project
Underlying UNFCCC CDM reference 4359
Project location Mauritius
Project type Technology-based greenhouse-gas emissions reduction
Reduction or removal Emissions reduction / avoided emissions. These credits are not carbon-removal credits.
Methodology ACM0001 — Flaring or use of landfill gas
Credit vintage 2023

The Mare Chicose Landfill Gas Project captures landfill gas containing methane. Captured landfill gas is used to generate electricity, while excess landfill gas is flared, reducing greenhouse-gas emissions that would otherwise occur.

The underlying project is registered as UNFCCC Clean Development Mechanism project number 4359 and uses an approved landfill-gas emissions-reduction methodology.

Additional information about the project is available from Cool Effect .

Methodology and Verification

Paper Culture's greenhouse-gas inventory and calculation of its estimated carbon footprint have not been independently verified by a third party.

The carbon credits purchased by Paper Culture are associated with a project operating under the Gold Standard program and applicable project monitoring, reporting, and verification requirements.

Greenhouse-gas accounting requires assumptions and estimates, and emissions factors and methodologies may change over time. Paper Culture may update its calculations when more accurate information or improved methodologies become available.

This disclosure is updated at least annually and provides information concerning Paper Culture's greenhouse-gas and voluntary carbon-market claims.
