Planting Trees

With every order of cards, Paper Culture is now providing seed packets for our customers to #PlantTrees. For the last 6 years, we've planted a tree with every order placed. With the order you just placed, we'll be planting a tree as well. To date, you've helped us plant over 300,000 trees throughout the world and now you, too, can #PlantTrees. If you have children, we hope this will be an opportunity to teach them about the impact of a single tree. For the grown ups, when you plant the seeds, you'll start a small blue spruce on its path to providing a natural habitat, to producing oxygen and to maybe one day becoming the most beautiful living Christmas tree in the world. Tell us how you #PlantTrees on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Our Eco Mission

Products made with eco-friendly materials

  • 100% recycled paper for all of our cards, ornaments, and coasters
  • Bamboo for our wall art
  • 100% recycled fabric (the first of its kind) for our wall decals

Practicing environmental stewardship in our everyday operations

  • Conserving and recycling what we can, but offsetting 100% of the carbon footprint we can't eliminate
  • Doing the little things around the office like 100% recycled copy paper, recycled Post-It notes, natural cleaning products, and replacing traditional light bulbs
  • Using recycled products for our packaging

Trees planted with every order

  • Since 2009, we have planted a tree with every order. We've planted over 300,000 trees to date and have pledged to plant 1,000,000 trees.
  • For the 2014 holiday season, we will also be including a packet of blue spruce seeds (aka Christmas trees) with all card orders, so that people can plant a tree themselves in addition to the tree we're planting.

Teaching the community about the meaning of trees and environmental stewardship

  • We visit local schools to tell the story of trees. In the words of the Lorax, we "speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues"
  • We include seeds in our packages because most of our customers have families and we believe that true understanding comes from interactive discussions and experiences. What better opportunity to talk about trees than when you're planting one yourself.
  • This year, we are offering a first of its kind "reversible box" where we have printed a modern tree pattern on the inside of a box. After it's been used to ship your cards, you can flip the box around to make a totally new box for your own storage, and it makes a great teaching tool for kids on how to reuse and repurpose.
