Inspired is Inspired by… Oprah and Others

© 2011 Harpo Productions, Inc. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably heard by now that Oprah Winfrey’s daytime talk show, Oprah, has come to an end. The syndicated show has had a successful 25-year run and has made the woman, an icon.

Winfrey’s story is one of the American dream: a poor Southern girl turned billionaire media mogul. And during her daytime television reign, she changed and undoubtedly inspired millions of viewers.

Aside from Oprah, following are a few things that inspire me:

1. My mom and my dad. And sometimes other people’s parents.

2. Cooking with my family, your family and especially cooking with children.

3. Outer space and oceans: the unknown is fascinating and I love that there is still so much for us to learn by them.

4. Milestones… the events that mark our lives. Births. Graduations. Weddings. Birthdays.

And if you haven’t heard or read it already, you can review Oprah Winfrey’s finale letter to her viewers here. Now that the “Oprah Winfrey Show” is over, where will you turn for your daily dose of inspiration?
